M6600 replace NVIDIA Quadro 3000M?

I have a Dell Precision M6600 laptop. Since I bought 2 batteries, 2 power supplies, installed 2 SSD... I would like to continue to use this laptop. The problem is, I use Adobe Premiere CC for video editing when I am onsite. The GPU NVIDIA Quadro 3000M is no longer supported by Adobe or NVIDIA. It will still edit, but to render (using the software only render) takes 3-4X as long). Can the GPU be replaced? 2 years ago, (due to a power surge), the Mother Board) fried & I had it replaced. (with a used MoBo). This computer repair store in Memphis can replace the GPU, if I find one that will work. Should I give up & buy a new video editing laptop computer? (it is 11 years old)

I'm a big believer in repurposing and repairing old computers, especially if you can do much of the work. It's prudent not to spend too much money on a very old machine.

There are compatible GPUs that you could install. However, unless you could get one almost for free, and could install it yourself (so no labour cost), I would recommend that you put the money toward a newer computer. Buying a GPU for such an old laptop is not cost-effective.

You could continue to use the M6600 as a backup laptop. Or, you could remove the SSDs to use in a newer computer or in USB enclosures as external drives. Depending upon the power output, you may be able to use the AC adapters with a newer system.
