Poor benchmark performances with precision 55010

Hello,

I have recently bought a refurbished precision 5510. In order to check that everything is OK on the computer, I've decided to launch a geekbench test. I'm very disappointed by the results!

I was expected this: https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/6652674
But I have this: https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/2093216
Final result is the quarter of expected....

So, I have:

  • updated the BIOS to the last revision (from 1.2.25 to 1.13)
  • updated the SSD firmware

In the BIOS:

  • 4 cores are enabled with hyperthreading
  • SSD is set on AHCI mode
  • intel speedstep is disabled (no change when enabled)

On both Windows and Linux:

The computer is powered by the original power adapter, there is no dock connected.

I've seen this post here: https://www.dell.com/community/Precision-Mobile-Workstations/Precision-5510-performance-degradation-after-firmware-upgrade/td-p/7456086 but because there are exactly the same performances beetween the last BIOS and the previous one, I'm not sure is relevant.

The performances are the same on windows and linux, so I don't think it's an OS issue.

Do you have any idea about this issue?

Thanks a lot.

You have horribly mistaken

The 1st screenshot you gave Was for geekbench 4 result

The 2nd screenshot that you tested was for geekbench 5 results

In geekbench 5...the score system has changed and 1000+ score in geekbench 5 is equal to 4200+ score in geekbench 4
