Precision 3541 & Nvidia Quadro P620 GPU Problems

I've been having driver issues with the laptop for a while, I'd uninstall the drivers for the Nvidia Quadro P620 and the computer would would fine for a while then start having BSOD crashes. Most of the errors it gave involved the nviddmk.m.sys and included reasons like Driver.Power.State.Failure, VIDEO TDR FAILURE and a handful of others. Right now it's stuck in a startup repair loop that I can't seem to break it out of. I don't believe its a driver problem anymore and may be a hardware issue with the video card. I had seen something searching around stating the video card was soldered onto the motherboard so I'm not sure what to do that this point. The warrantee is a year expired, should I send it in to Dell, will they even fix it or should I maybe take it to a local shop? Should I try reinstalling Windows to see if that will fix it?

On the replacement board, the Nvidia P620 doesn't have a VBIOS installed, I think it's a step on a production line, but the replacement board doesn't go through it, Dell needs to release those VBIOS or take it to the support team, because technical support does not understand the problem. Annex images of the P620 with you can see that it does not have its VBIOS

P.D. The laptop has the last BIOS and drivers from dell support page.

So after some testing, I found a workaround that at least does not result in BSOD. Rolling back the Intel and Nvidia video drivers to the 2019 release (original) appears to resolve the crashing. It does however create some strange monitor behavior when connect and disconnecting dock as well as when power is lost. To roll back , I went into device manager. Right click the device and choose update driver. Selected "Browse my computer for drivers". Then selected "Let me pick from a list". Then we selected the oldest revision for each graphics adapter (2019 release).

Was there ever a solution to this issue? I have the same problem, a boot loop with bsod's refering to the P620 graphics card.

I managed to get the machine working by installing Linux Mint 21.01 and disabling the P620 card. With this card being the reason I bought this machine, that solution isn't a solution at all. Of course this issue popped up half a year after the warranty expired...

It's a shame an overall good laptop was sold with this Achilles heel, judging by the vast number of subjects relating to this issue my Dell Amputee 3541 isn't a fluke.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem with the graphics card. In addition, I believe that sometimes the laptop overheats. Are there any solutions to the problem.

I support an organization with 13 computers equipped with the mobile P620 chipset.  With windows 10 and windows 11, frequently encounter BSODs with the finger pointing back to graphics.  I've had to disable the device in device manager to alleviate the issue.  Yep, only onboard intel GPU for now except for 1 using an external Thunderbolt Graphics Card.  Would love a real fix, but after 3 years, I'm sure none is coming.  This chipset was introduced February of 2018 and discontinued in 2019.  Likely a good reason for our Dell heroes to find a way to move excess stock at a bargain price.  What is even sadder, is Adobe scaled back Pascal chipset support in their mainstream products earlier this year.  So, with waning support from software that could use the acceleration features, I can only grumble quietly in a dark corner in disgust.

I've had similar issues as described in this post.

I've tried:

I have no interest in having the motherboard or other otherwise non-removable internal components replaced, so I didn't explore those routes. I did explore the VBIOS route, but I wasn't able to proceed due to the system not finding the EEPROG.

No matter what, I was still getting frequent blue screens because of a VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE due to the nvlddmkm.sys file. The most common occurrence of this blue screen would take place after booting up, then restarting took longer to resolve itself after said blue screen. I wasn't able to replicate this occurrence consistently, which made this issue more frustrating than it already was.

In trying to workaround this issue without prompts to install or update the NVIDIA driver, I came across an "Error 43 fix" as Code 43 is what the Device Manager would report as the reason the driver is not working. I updated the script to always patch the error 43 fix on startup. I doubt this actually fixes the issue, but I've found it adequate for neutralizing it - I'll report back if I find otherwise.

I don't suggest this for workstations in more critical situations but for my laptop in a pinch to keep me running on the go without interrupting my workflow, it gets the job done.

@gronquez87 Got a BSOD with a IF_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL (or something to that effect) error due to the nvlddmkm.sys file. I gave up and purchased a different laptop.

Facing this issue since May. I'm on Win11 constantly auto-updating. BSOD stop only upon disabling P620 card from Device Manager. Any chance to fix this if I go back to a clean install of Win10? I bought this laptop (second hand) only to have a Quadro......
