Precision 7760 add WWAN feature.

Hello,

I recently bought a new Precision 7760 but the WWAN feature was not available in the configuration (the only screen available was WLAN not WWAN).

After doing some research I found out that the WWAN antenna is part of the LCD Back Cover Lid Assembly and is not compatible with the IR camera etc.

Anyway I have 2 questions:

1. Can I purchase the UHD LCD WWAN assembly and the the WWAN card somewhere? Does Dell has an upgrade part number for this?

2. Are there any antenna connectors that are soldered on the motherboard for the Darwin antenna connection on the systems with WWAN configurations? Looking at the video "How to replace the WWAN card on the Precision 7560 and Precision 7760" it looks like 2 wires are connected to the motherboard (#3 Darwin antenna cable connector).

My motherboard doesn't look like has any antenna connectors at that place, just couple of footprints.

Thank you

For question #2 it appears that the antenna cable has those connectors that would fit the footprint on the motherboard, not sure how easy is to set those 2 connectors in place under that metal bracket and where I can find that metal bracket for Darwin connectors, maybe a part number might be helpful

Those appear to be the antenna connectors.  Assuming you can find a source of the panel assembly with the WWAN antenna wires attached, it should be possible to do the upgrade you want.  The assembly is likely to be north of $300 just for the display itself -- making this a very expensive upgrade.

A USB WWAN adapter is a much less expensive option.
