016-720 PDL Error H625cdw

Dell H625cdw Cloud MFP Laser Printer

Dell H625cdw Cloud MFP Laser Printer

I have a new PC with Windows 11 (Dell Precision 5480). Printing attempts produce 016-720 PDL errors. The printer prints from LCD, and a different computer with Windows 10 prints successfully. I see articles for other printers, but not this one, and have not been successful in translating the other printer resolutions to this printer.

I cannot get Windows 11 to recognize my Dell H625cdw printer.  Already tried many driver updates.

All I get is a PDL error when I attempt to print.  End of day, it's a driver issue for compatibility with Windows 11 that Dell should have anticipated and provided but they have not done so far.  With Microsoft terminating all functions for Microsoft apps such Work and Excell on Windows 10, it is critical that Dell meet the need and update this driver otherwise I will no longer be able to print.  If I am forced to purchase another printer to complement the forced purchase that I've made for a Windows 11 system, it will NOT BE A DELL.  Do you agree?

@soconn786

It's a driver issue that Dell needs to update or our printers will be "obsolete" which is ridiculous as the printer is fully functional with everything but Windows 11.  It's outrageous that we're being put in this position by companies that we've pandered to for decades.  Loyalty means nothing to them.  I feel completely betrayed.  How about you?

@Mytoolguy

Nothing prints wirelessly for me with Windows 11; constant PDL error.  I could print if I saved it as a PDF to a thumb drive that I manually inserted and selected to print which is obscene.  Is this 1990?  It's a driver issue that Dell needs to correct or Windows 11 needs to correct but one of them needs to fix this.  There's nothing wrong with this printer which has been faithfully printing wirelessly since purchase by my deceased partner.  Take this from me and I will never again purchase a DELL product.  Ever.

I had the same issue, but solved it by changing the IP mode setting on the H625cdw display to IPv4 only. Rebooted/restarted the printer, then I removed the printer from the Windows 11 computer, reinstalled it and then it was printing again.

I hope this can help someone else.

@salmony How did force IPv4. I see an IPv4/IPv6 filter setting. But no explanation of what this does.

@user_cec19c

Steps to change IP mode:

  1. Press cogwheel on main screen
  2. Press the Tools tab
  3. Press the Admin settings button
  4. Press the Network button
  5. Press the Ethernet button
  6. Press the IP Mode button
  7. Choose IPv4 mode instead of dual stack

However, the problem is back, but it only applies to some cases: printing a test page and printing a Word document. Printing a PDF file works fine.

A firmware update of the printer seems to have solved the problem (for now).
