1320c - Custom Paper Size Issue
Currently our printer does not automagically recognize that we're putting non-standard sized paper in it. So after printing 2 pages, the error light blinks and I have to open/close paper tray before it'll print two more, and repeat. :emotion-18:
I have successfully created custom paper sizes, but then hit a brick wall when the height is shorter than the width. I get a "Warning" window with the error message: Specify a value greater than the Short Edge value. The only option is to click OK and I'm brought back to my settings window to try again. The paper sizes I need to customize for my own sanity are:
8.5 x 8 in
8.5 x 7 in
If anyone can help me get around this I would be truly grateful!

I might suggest formatting the page to Landscape orientation (print sideways) so the the length will continue to be longer than the width.

How do you create a custom paper size? I've looked everywhere and can't find anyting about it. Thanks!

OK...... here ya go......
1. Right-click the printer object and click Print Properties.
2. After the Properties screen opens, click the Configuration Tab; at the bottom, click Custom Paper Size.
3. Setup a custom size using the Short Edge and Long Edge scales and assign name to it, for example, something like "Card_1".
4. Click OK, then OK again.
5. Insert the special size paper into the MPF (or SSF)
6. Open your word app (assuming Word-2007), click the Page Layout tab and then click the Size button.
7. Select the new paper size that should be now listed. This formats your document to fit the custom paper size you setup
8. To print, click the “Office” icon (i.e., File):
* Click Print,
* Click Preferences,
* Click the Paper Size drop list and select the new paper size; i.e., Card_1 (from step 3, above)
* From the Paper Source drop list, select MPF (or SSF)
* OK, OK
Hope this helps.

Hi All
I am using Windows 7 with my Dell 1320c and when I follow Lynster's instructions I have a problem at line 3. The Short and Long edge scales are grayed out and I cannot change them.
I have checked and I am using the latest driver. I am assuming that this requires administrator rights, but cannot see how to do this.
Can anyone help please.
