1320c impossible to activate non dell toner settings
i ran out of yellow toner and bought a non oem cartridge, ive been into maintenance setting and tried to activate the non dell toner function,
however ticking the selection box and then pressing either 'apply settings' or 'restart printer and apply settings'
results in the same message of 'it failed in the information transmission'
i have tried every variation of cartridge in/out side panel open/closed, manually restarting printer while non dell toner is selected....everything i can think of but this confounded contraption WILL NOT apply the new setting.
i can change every other setting within the maintenance domain successfully without 'it failed in the information transmission' so i do not have a connection issue.....toolbox is quite able to update printer information upon opening which demonstrates adequate communication facilities with the pc, yet here i am, held to ransom and completely unable to print anything whatsoever because of the way DELL has configured its sales pitch oriented programming.
i am not even able to print in black only, this entire printer has been rendered utterly non functional
am not a happy bunny, if Dell employees arrive at the office to find a broken window and a shattered printer in one corner of the room then theres a good chance its this one!

DELL do not make their own toner pigment, they do not make their own toner cartridges, the only difference between an original dell toner and a non dell toner is the copyrighted chip that dell have fixed to the cartridge......the dell and non dell toners are made by the same factories.
this 'using a non dell toner may damage the printer' rubbish is false fear mongering to ensure sales.
well they just outsold themselves.

well, after ringing 'support' whose only suggestion was to blame the non dell toner, and to offer to sell me an original dell toner and 'see if that works'......
poppycock! i tried to apply non dell toner setting with the original toner cartridge in place and still no joy, so how is buying another vastly overpriced toner cartridge going to help? how is using an original dell toner going to help me apply non dell toner settings?
Dell is clearly not interested in anything other than sales
this dell nonprinter is going in the bin, caveat emptor people, buyer beware, dell isnt interested in the customer, they just want your money.
well they will get no more of mine!!
