1600n -> Can't find scanner in Scan Manager

I've installed the printer drivers and set the printer's network address.  Printing works fine, but when I try to add the scanner using the Dell Network Scan Manager, the software can't detect the 1600n even when I feed it the ip address.  Pinging the address works fine.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Did you find an answer yet? I'm having the same problem. Hour with tech support got me an equipment swap but the new device has the same problem.

I had the same problem. Called Dell tech support several times. Neither the level one nor the senior level technician can figure it out. Read a message on this borad concerning possible block-off by Windows Firewall. Turned Firewall off and the scan manage found the printer immediately.
Now the printer has no problem initiating scanning to the PC.

I too am having this problem. We setup everything and printing / faxing / copying, etc is working just fine. We even can scan to the first 2 computers but none after that. I have my firewall turned off on the machine that can't find the scanner. I tried typing in the IP address and it still doesn't work.

Any one got any other ideas??

I had this problem and nothing worked until I changed my computer's IPv4 address from the automatically DHCP-assigned xxx.xxx.xxx.126 to a manually assigned xxx.xxx.xxx.199, where my Dell printer was xxx.xxx.xxx.202.

That finally fixed it.
