2155 Laser Printer error "Deleted by limit" code 062-790 and it won't copy on flatbed or feeder... HELP!

This is a fantastic printer, or at least has been for many years now.  Suddenly, while trying to make a simple copy on either the flatbed or using the feeder we are getting this cryptic message that is totally meaningless to us.  The error reads... "Deleted by limit."  followed by the error code.... 062-790. This is after the light scans the document.  I've searched Dell Support site high and low and can find nothing on either of these two errors.  So if anyone has any suggestions on what to do or where to look please advise.

As a default to try to correct this, I went through the obligatory power down wait a couple minutes and reboot after unplugging everything from the printer and my WIFI and my connected laptop.  Nothing changed of course and that's what led me here.

Respectfully,

John S.

Jestex,

Below are some things to try and resolve the error,

Clean the scanner glass, located on the far left side, using a lint-free cloth and a glass cleaner. A possible mark on the glass over which the paper passes when being copied. It is the rectangular glass that is probably only 1cm wide but the full A4 length across the screen. Clean the mark off this thoroughly.

Jesse L.... Fantastic!  You nailed it!  Such a simple fix and now everything is back to normal.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate the quick response and accurate info.  I was prepared to go shopping for another great Dell printer but now I don't have to.

Thanks Again!

We were getting the 062-790 error, and cleaning the glass did not help.

It turns out the error was a result of a security feature on the check we were trying to copy. If you're trying to scan/copy a check it could be due to something called the "EURion constellation". You can read more about this issue on a forum post here

OK cleaned glass and it did not solve it. It was a check I was trying to copy and there is a shiny part on the check as a security measure. I copied by covering the shiny spot. I would recomend that the error message be changed

to clean the scanner glass  and or security prevented from copying.

if it is a check , it wont copy unless your cover the security part on the check
