3000cn Colour Laser - wrong colour toner installed
In my absence, one of our office dummies changed the magenta toner on our 3000cn colour laser with a cyan toner. The mistake has been rectified but anything red now prints brown! Will this eventually resolve itself or is more drastic action needed (other than getting rid of the dummy)?

Hi Lodgeboy,
The intensity of the problem depends on how long the toner was used for and how much of wrong toner has been consumed by the printer. However, eventually as you keep using the printer the cyan toner should get emptied which gets replaced by actual magenta toner(if you have replaced it by removing the wrong toner) unless the imaging unit has been damaged due to the wrong color used.
I recommend you to remove all the toners and imaging unit and clean the toner compartment and the imaging unit as much as possible and use it for few days to see if the colors will come back to normal as before. And even then if the problem remains then I recommend you to try using another identical imaging unit and if that does not help you may have to buy a new printer.
