3000cn gets error 075-134 after replacing black toner
My dell 3000cn was working well and I needed to replace the black toner. I replaced the black toner, tried to print a page and the printer said there was paper jam. It said to open the reg cover and check mpf. I opened every cover as I did not know what reg was, I checked for a jam and nothing. There are 200+ sheets in the MPF and i do not see a jam. I removed the sheets and saw nothing. What is causing this reg cover error?

i forgot to add that I opened the back panel on the printer and found out that was the reg cover. Then I saw a little hook inside the printer and it was very loose. should it be that way? It was a little off center from the back and kind of midway up

If you can, please take a digital picture of the area with the loose part and post with your reply. Use the "Insert Media" icon to locate the file on your computer and upload to include with your reply. (obtw.... max image width is 550 pixels)

here is the picture. in this picture the hook is out or towards the camera, not pushed into the printer.

Great Pics !!
The "hook" as you call it is the actuator "arm" for the Registration Sensor. It's supposed to be out like this. When the back door is shut and you initiate a print cycle, paper is fed up into this area and depresses the "arm", signaling the printer that paper has arrived at the registration rollers. (the heavy steel/rubber roller pair immediately above the "arm").
The error is caused by paper never being fed, or paper arriving at the sensor later than expected. All these events in the printer are exactly timed. The printers controller knows exactly how long the paper should take to arrive at the sensor. If it takes too long, the printer assumes a jam or mis-feed and sets the error.
Unless you accidentally dumped a lot of toner into the paper area, changing your black cart has nothing to do with this error.
Try this: 1) Open the paper feed (MPF) door to the printer and ensure the paper is pushed all the way back. 2) While looking inside the MPF, initiate a print operation. I suggest just print the Printer Settings page. 3) As the print cycle starts, you should see the feed roller turning and the rear of the paper tray area lift up until the paper comes into contact with the roller, the paper should be pulled out of the tray area, and then the paper tray lower.
Do this as many times as needed and tell me what you see.

Yes, it should be, and that's the reason for the error.
Has any work been done on this unit lately? To clarify, it worked fine before you changed the black cart (which has nothing to do with this)?

Unless you have the printer opened up completely, using canned air is not a good idea.... it just moves the toner from one area and places it somewhere else. In this case, the error you have now (004-332) indicates a home position error for the cartridge carousel...... that big round thing in the center of the printer that holds your toner carts and the developer assemblies. The sensors are infrared and usually very difficult to obstruct with toner powder, unless you happened to be lucky enough to "land a glob" on the sensor.
More than likely, you have a toner cart that is not fully locked, causing the carousel to bind during rotation.... causing this error.
Try to manually rotate the carousel using this procedure:
1. Power off and remove the AC cord
2. Open the front cover
3. Open the top cover
4. Remove the Drum Unit and set aside
5. Close only the front cover (this releases the cartridge carrier [carousel] brake), leave the top cover open.
6. Reaching in the top of the unit, rotate the cartridge carousel in either direction to try to locate and lock the offending cartridge. Some force may be required.
a. AVOID touching any of the "fuzzy" rods that extend across the carousel from side to side. These are the MAG rollers and apply the toner to the drum cartridge.
b. Don't try to remove any cartridges out the top. Only try to lock it.
7. After locating and locking the offending cartridge, position each cartridge to the "Change Cartridge" position at the front.
8. Open the front door to lock the carousel and check the position of the cart. You can close/rotate/open the front door to adjust the position for easy removal/replacement.
9. Completely remove/replace to re-seat each cartridge. While each cart is out, clean up any excessive toner residue seen.
10. With front and top doors open, insert drum unit, close top then front cover, restore power and test.
Good luck......

do you happen to have the location of those IR sensors just in case?

You still have the 004-332 error, correct?
When you power on the machine, does it sound like it normally would? In other words, can you hear the toner carousel rotating? Did you perform the exercise I needed you to do to see if the carousel can freely rotate? If it binds anywhere while rotating, you will get this error.
Recently, I asked you to look at this:
1) Open the paper feed (MPF) door to the printer and ensure the paper is pushed all the way back.
2) While looking inside the MPF, initiate a print operation. I suggest just printing the "Printer Settings" page.
3) As the print cycle starts, you should see the feed roller turning and the rear of the paper tray area lifted up until the paper comes into contact with the roller, the paper should be pulled out of the tray area, and then the paper tray lower.
I think you may have replied, but I can' find your reply.
Can you please verify:
1. DID the feed roller turn as the rear of the tray lifts up to meet the roller?
2. When the paper met the feed roller, did the roller fail to push the paper out to the rear...... into the registration area?

yea i did reply. dell said if violated the terms of service so i will try to reword it.
i only saw 1 roller turning. it was not the big main one in the center. it was the rollers behind it and it and the big one was not turning or feeding paper through.
as far as removing the toner, I did all of that and the carousal does rotate freely when i close the front lid and manually move it. When i turn the printer on., i get a coulpe of sounds for maybe 5-7 seconds and it starts saying it needs to be restarted.

I got into the mode, went to the menu where DI-6c was and took the drum out. Then I closed the lid started to rotate and H 0 was always on the screen. 0 never changed

Use the Customer Diag mode again and navigate to the ESS menu, then the IOT sub-menu, then the Digital Input sub-sub-menu.
Run test DI-6c and test as follows:
DI-6c
Dev Rotary Home Sensor
Also called the "Rotor Position Sensor"; the sensor is buried inside the machine (LV/HVPS must be removed 1st to see the sensor mount) and detects the "home" position of the carousel; can be tested by removing the drum/IBT assy, leaving the top lid open, closing the front door, and manually rotating the carousel assy; the count should increment when the blue mag roller is near the top of the carousel.
Also, here's a cross-sectional view of where the sensors are located:

To clarify: 1)You removed the drum unit. 2) You left the TOP lid Open. 3) You CLOSED the front door. 4)You reached inside the top and manually rotated the carousel, at least one full revolution, while watching the display...... and it never changed?
