Hi Aaron, if you open the top and remove the top cartridge, then close the front lid the drum will roll through the top lid so you can line up the toner carriage. I hope this helps...

The "top" cartridge IS the Drum/IBT assy. The device that rotates is the developer carousel assy.

If one of the toner locking handles has jammed and is preventing the carousel from rotating, you may have one hard time fixing this.

POWER OFF 1st ....

Then (per the prior reply), remove the drum cartridge from the top, close only the front cover. Reach in and see if you can freely rotate the carousel. With the front closed, the carousel should rotate easily. If not, chances are the offending cartridge will still be in a position where you can access and fix the problem.

At least with the drum removed, you'll protect yourself from possible damaging the drum itself.

I was called in because the user had tried installing a new toner cartridge.  When I got there, I found the cartridge placed into it's slot, but not locked down, and the drum turned completely forward, jamming the toner lock pin against the bottom of the drum enclosure.  Per the "fix", I opened the top cover and was able to turn the drum back enough to get to the offending toner cartridge.
