942 all in one scanning problem
My printer is failing to scan a document. I've unplugged power for the printer and laptop, turned off and restarted both, disconnected and reconnected usb cable...nothing's worked. Any ideas?

Same problem here with 962.
I have to use the WIA driver first to scan or preview something and then the scan from All-In-One-Center or from the printer panel. I spent about 8 hours combined with DELL support and all that they know is uninstal & install the driver! Last time they told me that I'm the only one with this problem...They sent me a replacement printer that does the same thing. I even tried with a new HDD and new clear instalation of Win XP Pro because they were saying "It is your PC" I have no problem printing and scanning via WIA driver. It should be something with the software that comes with the printer.
Also I found out (the support does not mention anything about this) there is a log file dlbxscan.log in C:\ that record row like this every time when the scan does not work:
2005/05/03-02:25:19.506 SCW AcquireImage failure
When I press the Start button from the printer panel to scan, the mouse pointer on the PC screen turns to busy for a while and then goes back to normal. That with the log file entry tells me that the printer communicates with the PC but somewhere and error hapens. I'll try to rearange the USB IRQs on my PC and will post if that helped.

OK, I got mine working. I just re-installed the Win XP Service Pack and now it is working great.
The re-aranging of the USB ports and the IRQs did not help.
