A920 Printer and printing pictures

Question

All pictures I print come out darker than is viewed on the monitor. Some come out very dark. I have checked printer catridge alignment,  used different print settings (quick, normal etc.). Paper setting is set to glossy-if I use glossy. I have even tried different exposure settings. My default photo program is Kodak EasyShare. I have bounced it to Photoshop and printed with the Print Wizard. All the pics come out the same. I will hazard a guess that it's the printer and it's the nature of the beast. Yes?

When you are printing photos with a printing program you must adjust you monitor briteness (in your case darker) so that when you adjust the exposure it will match your print. This is true of all photo printers.

Please explain how adjusting my monitor (assuming you are talking about my flat screen) effects the value of printed photos.   Thanks

Adjusting the monitor itself makes no difference in the prints, except that adjusting the monitor causes you to adjust the photo printing program (photoshop or whatever) differently to correct color, exposure, etc. With the pictures that you described, if you set your monitor darker, when you preview the photo on the monitor before printing, it will cause you to set you printing program to print the photo lighter so that it will look correct on the monitor. Which will then print you a lighter photo.
