A940 offline after installing Vista 32-bit drivers
I'm hoping somebody out there has had this problem and resolved it....I have a Dimension E520 with Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I also have an A940 that I purchased with my previous system, which had Windows xp.
I downloaded the new Vista drivers on Friday. Now, whenever I send a job to my printer, the printer immediately switches from Ready to Offline, and I cannot get it to print. It will scan. It won't fax (but that's not important to me.)
I've been dealing with tech support for two days...They have had me uninstall, reinstall, download the firmware etc....nothing is working!
Even after shutting the computer off, the test page I have tried to print hang in memory, so that the printer can not be deleted.
I am so frustrated with Dell! They have finally decided that they will not try to help unless i call, but I don't have the patience at this time!
Has anybody been successful at getting their A940 working with Vista? If so, do you have any insight to offer?
Thanks so much for your help!
