A960 connected to Linksys wireless print server questions.

I guess no one knows.

Does anyone know if there is simply a basic printer driver for Windows XP to use for this type of scenario rather than the entire All-In-One software package?

I'm having the same issue, but I'm trying to use the printer remotely via Remote Desktop and getting a communictions error since the printer is connected to the virtual TS001 port rather than the USB port.

Can anyone help?

Anybody know if the dell printer drivers are similar to others (i.e. HP, Canon, ...?) that we could just use one of their generic drivers?

This was addressed deeper in the forums.  Essentially, Inkjets have no memory and require the Computer to supply the buffer (paraphrasing)  Wireless Printservers assume the printer will have enough memory to handle the file.  Since the local driver actually supplies the memory from the system the print server fails (Experimented here at work and ALL our ink jets, HP, Canon, Dell, fail to work.  Only our LJs or laser printers would work.) So, with my experiment I would conclude we could not put an ink jet printer by itself without actually hanging off of a physical computer.

That doesn't hold true in my case.  I've got an SMC Barricade wireless router that also functions as a print server and I've had both canon and HP inkjets hooked up to it which worked just fine.  In my opinion it's the "communications software" that's the root of the issue and dell would do well to release a basic printer driver without all the communications software overhead for the A960 as that would allow it to be used in a print server/remote desktop environment.

i have the exact same problem with my ao960 printer, although i don't have a linksys print server.  i have a dlink print server.  i have configured the server correctly because i can get a hp 930c inkjet printer to work through the print server, but not the dell.  i have email dell support with no response to this question.  i think it is the software.  would like to try a basic dell printer driver, does anyone know where to get one at?

I am having the same problem with a Linksys printServer #WPS54GU2. I can ping the server and it works fine, but when I try to print to it all I get is a commication error. I have a new A960. Have tried everything I know to do but nothing seems to work. I can install an older Canon printer to the printserver and it works just fine. HELP!!
