AIO 942 printer stops part way through documents, USB error

I can't get my printer to complete a printing job unless it is only 1-2 pages. It stops, feeds a blank page and then I get an error message stating that there is an unknown USB port. I have to delete the print job, turn off the printer and then try again. Also when you use the printer icon it goes straight to the print job and you don't get a chance to request those pages that didn't print previously.

I have been all over the world in tech support since June and nobody can do anything. They now want to restore my operating system. It seems to be working just fine, other than this print problem. I am sick of this Dell printer. I just bought my system in May, had the printer replaced in July and the same problem persists.

See my reply a couple of posts below to mikedddd - this am I ordered a Canon printer not all in one just a printer as a few people told me all in one's can be problemmatical - on sale at Staples.  I spoke with a Dell printer guy last night and he pretty much agreed that if a different brand of printer works, then it is something wrong with the Dell printer software or some kind of conflict.  He kept trying to convince me I must have a virus or spyware - I have three different programs on my computer that deal with that issue - I think they say that when they know darn well that it is really a Dell problem :smileywink:

Good luck!

You most likely have a problem with your USB drivers on your computer. This would have NOTHING to do with the printer. If you have had two printers act the same way, wouldn't that makes sense to you? You need to get in contact with the tech support for the maker of your PC (Dell?).

And to the lady that bought the Canon at Staples, if you are having the exact same problem as the OP your new Canon will not work properly either.

Thanks for the advice. Dell replaced the mother board in my PC and the printer is printing multipage documents without stopping now. There are no more USB errors.
