AIO A920

I know this question is probably simple by most, but I am very frustrated and need help.  When I print envelopes on this printer the addresses are printed in a redish color and I cant seem to find a way to change this to black.  Any help?

One thing you might try. click on start, click on printers, click on Dell920, click on printer preferences, click on "print in black only". The menus may not say these exact words, but will be close.

Thanks for the help.  I located a tb under properties that allows me to prinit in black only.  I guess Ill just have to remember to unclick that option when i want to print in color as well.  Not sure why I have to do this extra step but it solves the problem.  Thanks again

What program are you using to print the envelopes?  It may be the program, not the printer that's causing the color printing.

thinking that this maybe a software issue with WordPerfect I opened up Word and printed out an envelope from that program.  The color is even worse in that program.  Kinda a puke green/orange.  UGH

Not an ink issue.  The black ink cartridge is full as is the color.  Although now that I think about the very first time it went from jet black print to this color print the black ink cartridge was a bit low.  Could the printer have trigered some sort of default to the color ink even thought the black has been replaced multiple times since it first happended.  If so, how do I undo that default if thats whats happening.  BTW the WordPerfect version is 12.

When you run out of black ink the color ink cart can take over to print black by using all 3 colors and  that often leads to off color black.

Sorry about the string postings.  I have taken the color cartrige out of the printer and forced the print job on both WordPerfect and Word.  Both programs go through the printing process but nothing is being printed.  Therefore without question when I print an envelope using either Word or WordPefect my computer for some reason only prints from the color cartrige.  I hope that helps you guys to answer my question.  There must me a tab that is clicked or a default tab that I need to unclick so that the address are not printed in color but instead are printed in black ink.  BTW I have made sure that the color tab within the envelope drop box is on Black and not on any other color so thats not it

I use WordPerfect.  Not sure what versions but its pretty new.  Prior to your response I went into my printer tab and clicked "print in Black & White"  That actually worked for about 10 envelopes but then the color started up again and I didnt change a thing.  Just for background information.  When I print my letters all is fine.  When I print labels the lables are printed in black ink.  The only time my printer prints in color is when I print out envelopes.  The all tabs are on black so I have no idea why I get this ugly redish orange print on the return address and the mailing address.  It really is bothering me as I send about 20-30 letters a day.  Not very professional looking.  Please help

What happens if you print out the envelope data with just plain printer paper, not an actual envelope loaded in the printer?

I don't see anything in my MS Word that would cause that.  You may want to uninstall the printer and software, restart Windows and do a new install and see if that corrects it (??)

the print color from the envelope area when printed on regular paper is exactly the same as it is on an actual envelope.  Just the wierdest thing.  I would really like to figure this out but since I cant I have resorted to printing up label and placing them on the envelopes.
