All in One Dell Photo 962 Printer

PC:   Dell Dimension 4700
OPS: Windows Xp SP2
Ram 512 MB
Processor Speed3.40GHz
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU

I had to reinstall my All in one 962 Pinter, along with everything else. It prints just fine, but I can't get the Scanner to work from the All In One Shortcut Icon.It simply doesn't seem to be able to find the PrinterScanner. I seem to have several files / drivers / etc. either missing or corrupted since the trojan caused me to have to do a "clean " reinstallation. I'm becoming ever more aware that this isn't right, or that isn't right. Something is always turning out to be not quite the way it was before the installation. Would appreciate any comments , input, insight , help, etc. from somebbody, please. Thanx for your time and hospitality.

When you did the system reinstall, did you install the Intel chipset drivers?  The omission of the chipset drivers is a common mistake when reinstalling.  The chipset drivers define all the devices on the motherboard and must be installed before installing device drivers (such as the sound) or peripheral devices.

Also, when installing peripherals (such as your all in one) you must first run the installation program and ONLY when the install program directs you then physically connect the unit to the PC.  If you connect it first the install may fail or wrong drivers get installed.  (You must disconnect it while doing a reinstall too or it can cause problems).
