GertieKP,
Make an model of printer?
Are these Dell series cartridges?
Did you try...
Start, control panel, printers, printer preferences, advanced, more options and make sure complete-a-print boxes are unchecked.

It is the Dell 922 all in one. I tried everything suggested and finally took it to the Geek Squad. They said the jet was clogged. Disposable?

GertieKP,
Open the printer with the power on and remove the Dell Series 5 black ink cartridge and make sure the tape is off the cartridge, then reseat the cartridge back in. Now do the same for the Dell Series 5 color cartridge. Now when you close the printer, it should print an alignment page. Any error messages?
Dell Series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor in them and cannot be refilled. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges They can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's website.
Let me know what happens.

I never use ink except from Dell. Once again it tells me there was a problem with alignment. OK, I tried again and maybe the alcohol I used last night to try to clean it up inside loosened something up. It seems to be working again. Thank you for your help.
