C1765NFW Error Code 009-654

Hi

I have a Dell C1765nfw printer, was working fine, suddenly stopped working after giving a few "faint" pages..giving me an error 009-654, code 2880000. Cleaned the sensors and updated the firmware through USB, still nothing changed.

Any help will be very much appreciated, I am supposed to be presenting some really important work and I need it to work, so the printer is not actually helping at this point.

Much appreciate it if anyone w=could come with a solution, as obviously Dell doesn't t have a solution to this!

Hi Nazek.

If you can PM over your service tag I can have a look into this for you.

Thanks,

Mick.

Hi,

I'm getting the same error, but with code 210000.  Switching to an old yellow cartridge gave me a message that the toner needed to be replaced, and I was able to print with black and white only.  I tried the 'new' cartridge again and got the 009-654 error.

I'm guessing the 'new' cartridge is defective.

How was problem resolved?  My printer is out of warranty.

Hi lindaknapp,

If you PM (envelope on the top right) over your service tag and the serial number of the new toner you have I can have a look into this for you.

It might be worth cleaning your CTD sensor with the new toner installed after you have given it a couple of light shakes, instructions on cleaning the CTD sensor here: https://dell.to/2HAFgO5

Thanks,

Mick.

Hello,

I could not find a serial number on the cartridge - and Dell told me that since my printer was out of warranty, the error code meant I just needed to replace the printer.

However - tada!! - I kept trying different cartridges.  When I got the empty cartridge message, I changed the settings - menu>system>admin>maintenance>Non-Dell Toner>On.

It is now printing again, and in color as well as B/W!!

I am so glad I kept working on this!

Hello Different printer similar problem. 1250C Error Code 009-654-0x02080000, steady exclamation light on. Normally cleaning CTD sensor fixes this, but not this time also cleaned paper feed sensor but no luck. Power on warms up and then goes to error. reload firmware (as others have suggested) does not fix. Status monitor diagnostics work main motor, toner feed, paper feed etc all cartridges are at least half full. removing cartridges gives normal error (flashing exclamation + cartridge light steady. still thinking it is a sensor problem but faulty rather than dirty Any one else seen this or knows where there is an accurate list of error codes?. 31/10/2018 Done some more work and investigation. Cleaned Paper feed and paper exit sensor and cleaned CTD again. You have to do this next bit with back door open and operate the door switch by hand Operating paper feed and paper exit sensor while warming up gives correct error indication, (jam light + flashing exclamation). Power on, fuser comes on and after a few seconds motor starts running. Fuser reaches temperature and then CTD sensor comes on full, if you watch the photoconductor belt you see the toner patches come round for each colour, as soon as the last toner patch goes past the CTD sensor the exclamation light comes on steady and after about 10 seconds motor stops. To me this would suggest a problem with the CTD sensor (or the reading of it), anyone know how to get to the CTD sensor to replace it?.
