Cannot print via wireless to C1765nfw

Hi,

I have installed the software and utilities to my computer for a new C1765nfw.   The printer can be seen from the status monitor, it reports that it is in power saving mode or "ready to print" fine, therefore it appears as though wireless communication is there.   However when I print a document (from Word) it appears on the print queue, disappears but no print on the printer?

I am on Windows 7, Sky Router.

Help please!!!

Thanks

Paul

I am having the exact same problem.

When I run the diagnostic, it checks everything over the wireless and it can tell when there's no ink or paper(I took it out to test and put it back in to test again).  Yet, when I go to print a document, it doesn't print.  When I go to the print queue, it shows all my jobs and it says print error.  Nothing else.  No description of the error.  No number.  Nothing other than print-error.

I'd love some help please.  I need a printer that works.

Tell you what my solution has been... ditch the Dell printer.  I have had nothing but trouble.

Recently bought a Xerox Workcentre 6015... and guess what.... it is virtually identical to the Dell printer.... but works a lot better.   So I wonder who supplies who ;-D

I wish you the best of luck.

The manual doesn't help either.  I have had nothing but problems with this printer and Dell Solutions is not helpful.  Dells lack of Customer Service doesn't help either.  They want you to pay yet more money for help that will then tell you they can't help you.

As another unsatisfied customer pointed out, your best bet is to consider switching to a company that cares about their individual customers instead of just their larger corporate clients.  Ditch your dell printer and go with another one.  Go to Best Buy for your computer repairs(or a local computer repair shop).  You'll find they're cheaper, faster, nicer, speak American English, and are actually helpful.  This assumes, of course, that you are in the US.  If another nation, go to your version of our Best Buy.  They should be able to help you.

Good luck to you and anyone else who should happen to see this before giving Dell yet more of their money.

The driver that Windows 7 installs automatically (when adding a new printer) causes this problem. For me, the fix was:

1/ Start > Devices & Printers > Right click on Printer and select "Remove device"

2/ Install the printer driver from the Dell website.
