Color Laserjet 1320C Network Issues
Hello,
So I have this printer and I cannot for the life of me get networking working. Its a later model of the printer and it has the Ethernet built right in. At this point it works fine over USB. It does not show up in my clients list on my router when connected, the routers activity LED does however indicate activity. I have already tried
- Reset Factory Defaults
- Firmware is already the latest, but I tried to re-flash it anyhow.
- Pinged every addressable IP on my network unable to find the printer.
- New Ethernet cables, also it has been in different switches and routers.
In the Dell toolbox when I click on TCP/IP settings I get an error every time that says "Failed to acquire the information" the same happens when I click on EWS.
The current firmware is - 200809171053 I did find it strange that under Network Firmware Version it just shows -- no version or anything.
I have also discovered that I am unable to set a password for the unit.
Anyone have any suggestions? I would love to get this unit on my network.

The first thing to check - do you have the optional ethernet card for this unit?
The earlier models had an ethernet card as an option - this is frustrating!
If you are unsure, print a settings report (Press and hold the Continue button down for several seconds.) and look under installed options on this report to see if there is a ethernet card listed. You can also view the current IP address that the pritner is receiving on the network settings report; Menu > System Setup > Reports > Network Info.
Best of luck,
