Dell 1110 burning smell
Hello,
I have searched the boards, but have not found a previous answer to this question.
I have a Dell 1110 Printer in a small After School Tutoring Center. Lately as soon as the printer is turned on, there is a strong burning smell. No print jobs are being sent; the smell occurs just a minute or so after power on. Any thoughts, or is it just time for a new printer? This one is just under a year old, but no longer under any warranty.

Does it print OK?
As long as the smell goes away quickly, I wouldn't worry too much about it. These things have a heat lamp in them that heats the fuser roller up to ~350°F, then turns off until you start printing. Probably some paper dust "cooking" off. Also, this printer doesn't have any fans so the smell won't be dispelled as fast.
Use it until it drops...... they're cheap enough and you've probaly used it well.
