Question

User is complaining about the time it takes the printer to warm up and print. Is there a way to keep it in 'ready' mode?   Thanks, Cathy

There is no way to keep the printer in a warmed up mode. It could be its not the printer that is causing the delay and actually the communication between the computer and printer.

Is is connect via network or usb?

Has the delay increased over time or has it always been the same? The spec says it normally takes 10 seconds to print the first page sent.

That's exactly what it's taking. I think he's just been under more stress lately and perhaps less patient. I know that with some of their HP printers, I was able to download a 'fix' that keeps them in the ready mode all the time and thought there might be something like that for this one. I'll let him know there isn't. Thanks for your help.

My client continued to complain, so I went by yesterday and we timed the print job at 30 seconds from click to start of printing. I uninstalled the monitoring software and it started in 5 seconds - a much more acceptible time frame. We ordered a couple of toner cartridges to have on hand. What a nuisance!
