Dell 1815DN - Grinding/Squealing Noise

My 1815dn printer is making a strange noise while printing. The printer status is showing 59,000 pages printed. I've changed the toner cartridge and it still makes noise. Sounds like its close to death but I was wondering if there are other consumable parts in the printer that should be replaced (that might fix the noise issue).

Except for the Cartridge and the Feed roller, there really are no other "consumable" parts, per se'.

A likely suspect would be the fuser because of the high heat it must attain to fuse the toner to the paper. I've seen some of the bushings in the fuser "cook" after long periods of operation.

Thanks for the info. How would I go about ordering a feed roller?

You asked about consumables.... the feed roller is a consumable.... but is the last thing I would change. I'd pickup one of those automotive "probe" stethoscopes and try to localize the source of the noise. I'd be suspicious of the fuser or print "engine" drive first.

I actually believe it is the fuser drive assembly.  (part# D1815-W3) .  It is not uncommon for these to go bad.  Here is a video that shows you how to replace this part.

www.Iteminc.com has these in stock and ships same day
