Dell 1815dn with wireless printserver sitecom WL-201 v2

Hi forum,
 
I'm using a Dell 1815dn as my main printer. All the rest of the computers - routers are wireless and is all working ok. That's the reason for not using (wanting) a cabled network.
I've bought a Sitecom WL201 wireless printserver but I can't get the printer to work over its USB connection (from printerserver USB --> Printer USB). I've tried thousands of things but didn't get me anywhere near a solution. (not wireless, not cabled using the printserver, only directly connected to the printer's network port is ok)
Printserver is ok, accessible, gets a proper IP from the DHCP server, printer is set to fixed IP address, same range and fixed on the printerserver.
 
printerport is available and once the printer is connected to the port and is looking ok (ready), printing a test-page causes the the printer to fall over. nothing is printed, test-page cannot be deleted from the printer-queue etc etc.
 
The only to work around here is to delete the printer and reboot the pc.
 
I've contacted Sitecom as well and they refer to the fact that the 1815 is a hostbased printer and should be connected straight to the pc and should not work with a (wireless) printserver.
 
They tell me that only Dell should be able to tell me if this printer could work with a printer server
 
Ok, all suggestion are very much appreciated here.

If it were me, if you really have to be wireless,  I'd scrap the printserver, and use a wireless bridge. That way you get ALL of the network functionality of the 1815 (scan to email, scan to a share, web-based configuration) without the wire.

Thanks fir your info. You maybe right afterall, that using a print server was a bad choice. I figured this to be a "normal / standard" utility for this use, but apparantly I'm wrong here. I've tried other non HP printers but none of them produced any proper output.
 
If I get your picture right..... using a wireless router (which i have, Linksys ADSL WAG54G-SWITCH 4 ports), hook this one to the "main" wireless router and connect the DELL 1815 to the router using the network cable, which can be in that case a rather short one.
