David, Great problem description.

To clarify, are the drivers installed at the domain level? If so, have you tried installing on a client system? (just to test the issue)

Also, it seems to me, there should be a dialog box that asks "This user only" or "All users on this machine". Nothing like that?

I agree, that should've worked..... but I'm not sure how segregated you can treat the individual functions of the 2335dn.... i.e., only installing the FAX s/w from the CD on the client.

Let me know what you find..... we may need to get a Dell Moderator to help escalate this issue back to the Dell engineers.

I push the printer out to the networked computers through Group Policy. But that should install the driver locally. The only software I'm manually installing on the PCs is the PC Fax software that's included on the driver disc. No dialog asks about whether for current user or all users.

The weird thing is it works fine for the user that installs the software. I guess I could run something like regmon to possibly see what it's looking for when it fails. That's just a pain. :emotion-43:
