Dell 2335dn PCL6 Error

Question

Hello, I am new to the forums, so forgive me if I'm doing something wrong here... I've been using my second Dell 2335dn for some time now on a network.  I got a new Dell Inspiron 3542 with Windows 8.1 just before Christmas.  The PC and printer had been working fine, until sometime this week.  I am no longer able to print from the PC.  I also have a laptop on this network, and it appears to be printing without issues to the Dell 2335dn.  When printing from the PC, instead of printing the desired document, I get a page with the following message, or a variance thereof; PCL6 ERROR - !(CharSize==0) POSITION : 0x4356 (17238) SYSTEM : ../../pcl6/XLPGP/xl_setfont LINE : 580 VERSION : PCL6 5.94 05-11-2009 I say that the error is sometimes a variance of the aforementioned because the only consistent part of the error message is 'PCL6 ERROR -' and 'VERSION : PCL6 5.94 05-11-2009'.  The message after 'PCL6 ERROR' varies, as do the 'POSITION', 'SYSTEM' and 'LINE' messages. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer and drivers.  I've tried changing the network cables and ports into which they are plugged into.  Everything else on this PC seems to work fine; I can print from the PC to another printer on the network, I can use the internet, I can access files on the other computers on the network, etc,... I've tried to find solutions on this site and other websites, and I think that I've already tried everything that was recommended. I don't think that anything has changed on the PC or printer, that may have caused this issue.  The only updates that may have occurred are automatic updates from Microsoft for Windows 8.1. I also am getting the error on an 8.1 computer, other Windows 7 computers print to it fine.......

PCL6 ERROR - ul_bytes_handled == ul_PackedSize

POSITION : 0x634e (25422)

LINE : 1054

VERSION : PCL6 5.94 05-11-2009

I downloaded and installed the following and got the same results .....

These drivers help you print, scan and fax to the printer from PC running on the following Microsoft Windows Operating Systems: XP (32/64-bit), Vista (32/64-bit), 7 (32/64-bit), 8(32/64-bit), 8.1 (32/64-bit), Server 2003 (32/64-bit), Server 2008 (32/64-bit), 2008 R2 and Server 2012.
