Dell 3000cn Color Laser Printer Properties....
I was helping a friend hook up his new Dell PC, and 3000cn printer. After I had installed the drivers and software I tried to print a page, which worked fine. Then I attempted to change some of the settings for the printer and all the tabs are written in spanish. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers at least 3 times. Always selecting English during the setup. Any ideas on how to remedy this situation.

Also, in case you're wondering, if you didn't catch that it had default to the spanish driver when you were selecting the printer drivers, then the drivers stay on the computer and the OS will not allow them to be overwritten. Hence, you have to go into the Printer Server Properties screen to remove the driver officially. Though, it will always default to Spanish when it is searching for the drivers.. you have to point it to the English.
For any sort of Printer.. you should install the software and wait until you are prompted to plug it into the PC for best results.

Click Start ==> Click Printers and Faxes ==> Delete the 3000cn from the printer list ==> Click on File and select "Server Properties" (while in the Printers and Faxes window) ==> A window should open, Click on the "Drivers" tab ==> Highlight any drivers that mention the 3000cn and remove them. If you have problems with that last step, reboot, go back to Printers and Faxes and try again (sometimes it won't let you remove the drivers). Make sure that your printer is unplugged during all of this.
After that, insert the 3000cn Drivers and Utilities disc into the cdrom (make sure the printer is not plugged into the computer), Click Personal Installation, then follow the instructions on the next screen. Mainly, it will ask you to plug in the printer. That should do it. Good luck.

Next time I'll burn that really handy....or in this case not so handy....instruction sheet that came with the printer. I did physically remove the drivers and reinstall them....didnt work. What did end up working was to use system restore. I do appreciate the help.
