Dell 3100cn maintenance questions

I have a Dell 3100cn color laser printer that is having problems with paper jams.

I am about to replace the black toner and the drum cartridge to see if that will correct the problem but it occurred to me that I've never really cleaned the printer and done any maintenance.

My plan is to open her up and vacuum the dust, toner, etc. from inside as best as I can but I wonder if there are other things I should be doing. I'm not much of a technical wizard but I really only want to clean it out and hope that will solve the paper jam problems.

Any advice or hints I should know about before I start?
