Dell 5100cn Color Laser Question

My C, M, and Y toners have recently run out. My question is simple. Is it possible to print even though some of the toners have run out? If yes, how would I do this? When I try to print anything now, the printer only says that I should replace the empty toners.

Shouldn't it be possible to print in black and white without the C, M and Y toners?

Any help will be appreciated.

the cartridges have chips in them.  dell wants you to have all operational cartridges installed at all times.

Unlike inkjet printers, in color lasers the intelligence is not in the toner cartridge, it's in the printer. There is a toner sensor in the printer for each color.

The printer will allow you to print when toner is low, but if it thinks any cartridge is empty, it refuses to print at all.

I agree that this is somewhat unfriendly.
