Dell AIO 942 printer using Windows XP various errors driving me barmy !
A couple of weeks ago, I tried to print a document only to get a message that the spooler had developed a fault and had to close. I followed various advice on- line trying to solve the problem including restarting the print spooler service, uninstalling the printer, reinstalling and updating the drive etc. I'm now at the stage where there is a communcation problem when I send docs to the printer. What have I done wrong ? - please keep it simple...I'm a retired Business manager who used to get my staff to fix IT faults !

Little Angus,
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer.
You can then use the printer disk to install the printer. You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on)
Links to the patch/drivers(if needed) can be found at...

Make and model of your computer and operating system. 32-bit or 64-bit?
Dell 942 Printer connected with usb cable?
What virus program and firewall are you using?
