Dell AIO Printer A960 - paper misfeeds and angled prints

I just bought a Dell All-In-One Printer A960 and I'm experiencing a lot of problems with paper misfeeds and angled prints of texts and images on my paper sheets. I use special color inkjet paper and I loaded the paper correctly as described in the user manual. I also tried other paper, but without any improvements.

I noticed that there is only one rubber wheel (on the side), which pulls the paper sheets from the top loader. That's why the sheets are not fed in a straight way. This problem is slightly corrected when the sheets are being pulled further into the printer, but it is not enough to prevent angled prints of texts and images.

Many other forum members have complained about similar problems, also with the Dell AIO Printer A940.

On Tuesday the 10th of February 2004 I called Dell Customer Care because I wanted to return my Dell AIO Printer A960. They connected me to Dell Technical Support, but this department didn't have a technical solution. I was told that my printer would be exchanged for another one.

On Friday the 13th of February 2004 I called Dell Customer Care again because my printer had not been replaced yet. I was told that it would be exchanged next week. However, according to my contract I'm entitled to One Year Next Business Day Exchange. Dell responded that according to the fine print the response time may vary and may depend on the product's location. For your information I live in the fifth largest city of the country so that shouldn't have to be a logistic problem.

I decided to return my defective product after all, because the warranty service level has been poor as well. Dell is charging me about $68.75 to return it, while only paid $18.75 to receive it!
