Dell all in one printer P713W
I have been unable to down a driver for my DELL P713W all in one printer. My Inspiron 5721 x64, is running windows 8, version 6.2.9200 build 9200. Every time I try to download the driver I get the installation error: FAILED TO CREATE PRINT OBJECT DELL P713W (NETWORK) THE PRINTER DRIVER IS UNKNOWN. (1797). I work from home so this is causing me tremendous problems. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi lizzy923,
Welcome to the community.
Please remove the printer driver manually by following the steps in the link below:
http://dell.to/15shdnW
Then, download and install the driver from this link:
downloads.dell.com/.../DELL_P713w_wcr_64_en.exe
If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact us.
Thanks and Regards

I tried the response below and still get the same problem as described by Lizzy923
The entire driver installation proces runs without a problem, the printer is found, but the it fails at the end after spending some time on the "preparing your printer" window. leaving you with ... nothing!
Using this printer wireless has caused me many grey hairs and made me loose significant time by reintsalling and uninstalling drivers. I only try to link 3 different PC's to it in my house and I find it hard to understand why the official driver from the official Dell site would not be working. it cannot be this hard to create a driver that works with windows 8 that run on a Dell PC right. otherwise, drop your claim that you can use the device wirless. from my laptop that runs on XP it works fine but the desktop PC with win 8 keeps giving the above error or says that it cannot communicate while it is online and the wifi signal is green.
A solution for this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Wim M,
Un-install the printer drivers from the Control Panel (ensure there are no documents in queue before removing the printer drivers) and then re-boot the system. Re-install the printer drivers and update the printer firmware from the first link listed below. The other links below have useful information on troubleshooting the Dell Printer 713W.
Please reply if you have further queries.
Thanks & regards,
