Dell Colour Laser 3110cn Help Required

Question

Hi All

Im running the above printer on a printer server. The server itself is running Server 2003 but the workstations are all XP.

The printer has been working fine but all of a sudden we are gettin following Error

016-757 - Invalid User

And the printer fails to print.

Any help available folks.

Hi I am not sure if you have fixed your issue but I am running to a similar error with my Dell2135cn: When I try to print I get the following error:

"Authentication error has occurred. The account is not registered. Please inquire of the system administrator. 016-757" is displayed on the Status Monitor.

If you know any fix please help

I just got this same message today, 1-14-09 and there does not seem to be anything out there for resolution.

Hey,

I'm not sure if you got this resolved but you might check this. I got a similar error on a Dell 3100CN network printer that is running through Server 2003 and the issue was that the printer was no longer shared on the server for some reason.

As soon as I went into the printers and faxes on my server and shared the printer again printing was restored.

Is 'ColorTrack' being used? This error is specific to ColorTrack/Auditron feature used in Dell Color lasers that allow the admin to setup 'who' gets to print in Color vs. Mono. Access the printer's EWS and make the changes in there. I'd always suggest password protecting the EWS to prevent anyone on your network from connecting to the printer and 'playing' with it.

I have Dell 3110cn printer that is hooked up directly to the computer via USB.  What is EWS and how to access EWS to clear Invalid User 016-757 Account Denied Press 'check'.  Thank you.
