Faxing With All-in-one 942

I have been using my Dell 942 to Fax with for 4 years and now when I fax a document to any one I'm told the Fax is to Light to Read. I've cleaned the glass With no prevail. Has any one had this problem and been able to resolve it with out Replacing the All-in-one  ??  Thanks
