hardware error 0502 Please somebody help me before i set this printer on fire!!
Please somebody help me before I set this printer on fire!!
Every time I turn on my printer I get a message:
Hardware error 0502
I have written to dell support 5 times and every time they send me the same advice : remove the power plug, let power drain, plug in, restart, reposition the strip, cartridges, blah blah blah!!
I am not an idiot. None of it works. To make my printer work I have delete the printer, drivers etc and reinstall. If that does not work, I then try moving the cartridges around. Sometimes this will work for a day or so, but then when I want to restart my computer, or just don't use it for a few days: same error message pops up when I turn on the printer. Is Dell just expecting me to do this work around EVERY TIME I HAVE TO USE MY PRINTER???
Please just help me...........

novagurl,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
Dell does not expect you do any workarounds each time you use the printer. I would suggest that you reply to any of the messages you have received from Dell Technical Support, and explain that you have tried all of the suggestions given, and the problem persists. Unless the technicians know that you have written in previously, and understand what you have tried, then they are going to send the same response. Deleting and reinstalling the printer is one of the first common steps in troubleshooting a printer problem. It seems that you need to proceed onto other steps, and that requires that the technician understand that you have already tried the basic troubleshooting.
You may also wish to try calling, so that you can be taken through all the troubleshooting steps at once.
