How to Disable popup printer status box

Hi,
We have a Dell 1720 printer. The driver puts a "status" popup on the screen as it prints. My problem is that we have some very old software that apparently uses screen captures to print reports and the printer status window shows on the printed forms.
The best solution for us whould be to stop the driver from popping up during the print. Can we do that?

You may be able to disable this "feature" by going into msconfig, startup tab, and unchecking anything to do with this printer.

you could also try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, either from CD or dell website and make sure that status monitor is NOT checked for download prior to installation.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have grabbed the newest drivers off of the web but when I installed them, I did not see any options to dumb down the interface. I'll try again just to make sure. I also tried to just move the window so that it was mostly off of the screen, but the software will not allow the window position to be saved when any part of it is off of the screen.

Solution:The uninstall utility as run from the start menu has an option to uninstall the status monitor as an individual item. I don't know how I missed that before. Thanks for your attention.
