I am having the same problem only with my left cartridge.  I had it with the right one for about a minute and then that went away.  Have you found a solution yet?

I contacted support and reported the problem, they had me try this below. But it did not work for me, so I am returning the printer for an exchange. Here is a snip from a mail that was sent to me by Dell support.... maybe you will have better luck than I did.

Good Luck,
Jeff

Thank you for contacting Dell Technical Support.

I have gone through your mail and understand that you printer is not
working correctly and its giving the following error message "Incorrect
Left Cartridge followed by Incorrect Right Cartridge"

I researched my database and Internet to find a good solution for
this issue. Please perform the following steps in the order given and
ignore the steps which do not apply.

Verify all packaging materials have been removed from the toner/ink
cartridge.
To verify all packaging materials have been removed from the toner/ink
cartridge(s), perform the following step:
Remove any stickers or tape from the bottom of the ink cartridges.
Remove the red handles attached to toner cartridges.

Disconnect and reconnect the printer power supply.
To properly disconnect and reconnect the power supply from the printer,
perform the following steps:
Remove the power supply from the back of the printer.
Wait five seconds.
Firmly reconnect the power supply to the back of the printer

When the power supply is inserted slowly into the printer, it should
click twice before it is completely in place. For additional
information, refer to the Online User's Guide
(support.dell.com/support/systemsinfo/documentation.aspx?c=us&cs=
19&l=en&s=dhs&~cat=33)

Verify that the ink cartridges are the proper cartridges for the printer
and have not been refilled.
Dell does not support refilled or third-party ink cartridges. These
cartridges can potentially damage the printer. To verify the cartridges
are Dell-branded, take the cartridges out of the printer and look at the
top. Verify that the cartridge has Dell molded into the cartridge case
Try the cartridges individually.
To try the cartridges individually and swap slots, perform the following
steps:
With the printer on open the cover.
Remove the color cartridge.
Close the cover.
Cycle power on the printer and see if the error goes away.
Replace the color cartridge.
Repeat steps 1-4 with the black cartridge.

CHECK IF Error always happens regardless of which cartridge is
installed. OR ITS SPECIFIC TO A CARTRIDGE
(end)

I have a new 922 printer that I just started using today.  I received these same messages after successfully printing earlier today.

Does anybody have an update on a solution to this error message?

That's what I am doing after a couple of go arounds with Tech Support.  They are replacing the cartridges.  I'll let everyone know whether or not that works after I get them.

Thanks!

I have been working on the same problem, but I am in Canada. I started with the U.S. support center and they were going to replace my printer, but couldn't ship to Canada. They suggested I contact Dell.ca support center. After a long go around with them they sent me a new printer without the cartridges.

Now I get both left and right cartridges incorrect. I am not impressed.

Replacing the cartridges has worked for me.  It sounds like this has done the trick everytime.  Refer the Dell Support to my thread and maybe they can get a technical bulletin out on this.  Or, better yet, do something about the obvious quality issues they are having with the print cartridge supplier!

Good luck!
