ios 8 update causing URF ERROR Airprint not working

After updating iPhones and iPads to Apples ios 8 Airprint not working. Printer works beautifully with my 5S which has not been updated and still runs on IOS 7. Are there any firmware updates for the B1165nfw laser printers coming soon to correct this problem?

Hi Leibcha,

I also found out today how to install the new firmware that is supposed to solve the airprint problem.
Unfortunately I still can't make Airprint to work with my b1165nfw printer.

I wonder if it works for you now?

Unfortunately, the new fimware does not resolve my problems addressed in this thread. I still get URF errors when I try to print from iPad Air (iOS 8.1.2) to my Dell B1265dfw (3.70.01.12 OCT-29-2014) over AirPrint.

So I think this problem isn't fixed yet.

Please help!

Hi, Zarbond,

Yes I can print now after the latest update, I have an iPhone 6 and an iPad Air both running iOS 8.1.2.

Interesting it's not working by you. I'll suggest 2 things, first log in to your printer's web interface, you can do this by pointing your browser to the local ip address of your printer, you'll see a login button on top, if you never logged in before the default user name is admin and password is del00000. In there you can adjust all the settings very easily, (you can also update the firmware there without needing the update utility),  now check if the AirPrint feature is enabled, and most importantly check if you are actually running the latest firmware (ends with .15).

If the problem is still not resolved try to reset the network settings on your printer.

Good Luck!!

Hi Leibcha,

I finally got it to work. The trick that did it for me was to shut down and restart my phone, in order to be able to use it with my new printerfirmware. For my girlfriend it worked the exact same way.

Sometimes the solution is simple................

Hi, could you please help me understand how to complete the steps you listed here?  I went to the drivers and downloads section for this printer.  I am using a Mac.  The only file I found is the MAC_Installer.  I downloaded this.  I installed it, but the printer is still not working with my iPad.  So, I found your post and I have gone to the Ip address for my printer.  I found a Firmware Upgrade Wizard.  However, when I try to run it, it wants me to browse to find the file.  I did this and chose this MAC_Installer file.  It says invalid firmware.    I tried searching this MAC_Installer folder myself to find the exact file, but I cannot find one.  Can you please post a link to the file I need?  Also, any additional help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!  By the way, I have restarted the printer and iPad with no luck.  I also cannot find anywhere to enable AirPrint in the printer's web interface.  Thanks!

Thank you so much!!!  I'm sorry, I do have a Dell B1165nfw printer.  I forgot to specify that before.  I was able to follow your instructions easily and now my iPad is printing fine.  I really appreciate your help!  :emotion-1:
