IPP Driver for Dell 944?

Hi, I cannot print to my Dell 944 via a USB connection on a wireless router. I'm told by the router supplier that the printer needs an IPP driver so that it can print over the Internet Printing Protocol.
Is there such a driver for this printer model?

Did you follow the instructions exactly? you need to plug in the wireless adapter to a PC first then the printer.

Or are you wanting to accually print over the internet like from a remote location?
In that case Ive never tried it.

Yes, instructions were followed to the letter. Printer connected directly to laptop, installed and configured and printing ok through usb port. Wireless router connected by ethernet cable to laptop for configuration. Ethernet cable removed between laptop and wireless router and printer plugged into router's usb printer port. Laptop communicates via wireless to router and can see the router's configuration page which also shows that router has recognised the Dell printer and assigned it to a url e.g. http://router:1631/printers/My_Printer (as it is supposed to). Try to install new network printer on the laptop and choose the url option but reports that it cannot access the printer!

Spelling of the url checked and re-checked to ensure it was the same as that reported by the router in it's configuration page. Laptop has Win XP Pro SP2. To print to a printer on a url location apparently requires an IPP (Internet Printing Protocol) driver - but I don't know if there is one for the 944 (and if so, how to get it). :-(
