As far as Dell Supporting anything OTHER that Windows Based Operating System, Its not happening. If you found a driver at *Cough* Lexmark *Cough* then it would work. BUT Dell does not support anything but Windows Operating Systems

In the Specification for this printer, Linux is mentioned as a supported OS.  So why does DELL not support Linux?

Dell only supports the printers on Windows based Operating systems due to that being the only type of Operating System that is shipped out on dell computers. Just because Dell states that the printer or the computer for that matter supports anything does NOT mean that they support it. Dell does not help with the installing or the set up of a printe if it is not on a Windows Based OS. Believe me, I do know what I am talking about, I work for Dell :-)

If you don't belive me you can go to www.Support.Dell.com and read the contract that was sent to you when you recieved the printer/computer. dell DOES not support anything that didnt come on the system, and hooking up a printer on a NON Windows computer is part of that....
I tried to post the exact URL but you have to have the Service Tag in order to view the Contract that was sent with the specific system/printer.
