Legal Size vs. Letterhead selection

Multipurpose Tray
3000cn
networked
-------- and all works great
We are wondering if there is a way to switch from plain/letterhead size to legal size without changing the printer settings via the control panel on the printer?

What we're doing is:
1. remove paper, and place legal in the multipurpose tray
2. change 3000cn settings at the printer to legal
3. print the document
4. change the printer back to plain paper
5. remove paper, and place with plain paper.

Any way to just change the printer settings with the print job (eliminating steps 2 and 4)?

There is no way to do it.

Wait, it gets worse: There is no way to automatically pull correct size paper even if you have an additional 250-sheet tray installed and loaded with different size paper (say, Letter in MPF and Legal in Tray 1.)

- I have Paper Tray option set to "Auto" in driver Print Preferences.

- I have MS Word Print Options set to "Use printer settings."

With Tray set to "Auto" in MS Word Page Setup, it would not print on Letter (pops message "Load Tray Letter" on the LCD panel and stops until you press Cancel button.)

So I set the default tray to MPF in MS Word Page Setup, because most of the output is on Letter.  Whenever I have Legal-size document, I have to go into Page Setup in Word before I print, and manually change Paper Tray to Tray 1, otherwise it wouldn't print!

FRUSTRATING!!  No HP printer ever had this problem except HP 2200 I once seen.  They just used to work.

I guess you get what you pay for..
