MFC 1815dn doesn't retain manual network settings after reboot
Just received this machine today and it would not save manual ip address settings whether set through the control panel, setip address utility on cdrom or through the web interface. I had to downgrade the firmware. Below is a copy of my chat session for your reference: This is an automated email sent from Dell Chat. The following information is a log of your session. I will have to let someone know this" 11/27/2007 10:22:56AM Mike Galbicka: "my question as well - the download seems much older" 11/27/2007 10:24:16AM Agent (PTR David S): "hmm... that is rather odd" 11/27/2007 10:29:05AM Agent (PTR David S): "has it finished downloading?" 11/27/2007 10:30:44AM Mike Galbicka: "it just rebooted and I will test - the firmware version now reads V4.01.26(1815dn) 10-26-2006 so their numbering on the download page seems wrong to me" 11/27/2007 10:33:49AM Mike Galbicka: "rebooted twice and ip is retained - thanks and goodbye" 11/27/2007 10:35:24AM Agent (PTR David S): "it would appear so" 11/27/2007 10:35:33AM Agent (PTR David S): "your welcome.. have a great day" 11/27/2007 10:35:35AM Session Ended If you require further assistance, please visit us at support.dell.com
