New 922AIO "carrier stall" (error 1200)

trying to get new printer working.  have tried de-&reinstall program as suggested for similar sounding problems on this board.  no go.  Message reads "carrier stall... check printer for obstructions (error 1200)".  there are no paper jams or obstructions - just a noise when printer is powered followed by flashing exclamation point and message.  I have taken the cartridges out several times and reinstalled them.  if i could just remember my password I'd send this puppy back before warrenty expires. Any help would be much appreciated.

I am having the SAME problem with my Dell AIO A920 printer. It says 'cartridge stall.' If anyone can help, it would be appreciated! Thanks!

the clear strip at the back of the ink carrier might be misaligned. call tech support for this. if the problem is not resolved after doing troubleshooting steps and if you're still under warranty, printer may be replaced.

Yay!  Talked to a nice tech who had me; first disconnect power to printer - then grasp the cartridges and force them first to the left, then to the right.  It was scary as they were jammed but they freed up and slid smoothly.  He also had me clean at the transparent strip but forcing thecarridge was the fix.

I have a Dell 922 that is doing the same thing.  It is out of warranty.  When I turn on the ink carriage rapidly jumps back and forth once with a loud CLUNK-CLUNK then the erro message 1200 appears to clear the obstruction.  There is no obstruction.  I removed the cartridges unplugged and returned them again--plugged it back in and still the same.  I thought it was the new cartridges I installed, but I think it is not them--but cannot find out for sure.

I have OLD 922 with your exact same symptoms.  Found no obstructions, no paper jam, checked cartridges, etc.   So I unplugged printer from computer and electrical outlet, took hold of the cartridges and forced them first to the left side of the printer, then the right side of printer.  My problems and 1200 error message are gone.  The Old Dell Photo All-in-One Printer 922 is back up and running good as new!  Thanks for posting the troubleshooting idea.  It worked for me!  And I'm a newbie!
