I am trying to scan a document into an editable text and am unable to do so.  My printer (A940) scans the document but tells me that I need to install an OCR software but I did not get this software with my printer.  Is there any way I can download this software?

    Unfortunately not.

This software is located on the CD itself. Support will send you an install CD if you contact them.

Check out Nuance's (formerly Scansoft) Omnipage or Textbridge products. I used to manage their help desk and they are tops in the scanner/ocr business. It will work with most TWAIN or WIA compatible scanners. Omnipage is more office/commercial while Textbridge is geared more for home use.
