Paper jam 962 all-in-one

Bit by bit my 962 has had increasing problems with paper jams, only when printing checks.  It works fine for other printing, but about one of 5 checks jams and is destroyed.  There is nothing in the rollers...Is this fixable, or do I need a new printer.
