paper jam but NO paper

Question

My printer keeps telling me I have a paper jam but there's no paper in the printer. The power light is blinking and when I try to print- a pop up screen tells me I have a paper jam. Only problem is- there's no paper in the printer. Anyone have an idea what's causing this? when i turn it on paper goes throgh with no problems but it wont let me print just keeps saying clean paper jam?     emma

ive tried to shake it nothing i will try the hoover thanks emma

Disconnect all cables to printer. Hold it upside down and shake it real hard for 30 seconds. this will clear anything stuck inside the printer. Also try using a vacuum cleaner and clean it out.
