paper jam solved/but how to fix it

I tried everthing to solve a recurring 922 AIO paper jam.  I finally turned the whole printer up-side-down.
A small black rubberband looking thing dropped out.  It is about 1/32" thick, and about a half inch in diameter and 3/8" wide.  It is torn through in one place and cracked (like old rubber gets) in another place.

Does anyone out there know what this thing is?
How to get another?
How to reinstall?

Or is it unrelated debris that caused the paper jam in the first place?

Thanks so much for any light you can shed on this mystery object.

Have you tried printing after turning your printer upside down? Check if you're still having the same problem..

Yes, I have but it still says paper jam.  It was el-cheapo to begin with so I decided to order a
new printer with ( Duh!) an extended warranty.

It looks like there are no replacement parts for the 922 and that thing I found is about the same
diameter as the rollers.

Any one out there want a used 922 for spare parts?

Thanks for getting back to me.
